As a judges' advisor, Jim is responsible for liaising with car companies regarding running costs data and compiling the final scoring table on running costs across the 12 categories of Australia's Best Cars Jim was an Australia's Best Cars judge for five years, from 2000 to 2004. He has held the position of managing editor of the Club's magazine since May 1994. The magazine covers motoring consumer issues, cars and travel. He also has a fortnightly motoring segment on ABC radio, regional Queensland. Between 1994 and 2004, Jim was heavily involved in the RACQ's new vehicle road test program, testing more than 120 cars a year and writing related articles for The Road Ahead and Club's website. Prior to the establishment of Australia's Best Cars, he was involved in the RACQ's own annual new car awards program, which was run jointly with The Courier-Mail |
