Barry has been a professional journalist for 23 years and a freelance motoring writer even longer.
He joined The Road Ahead in November 2007 as senior journalist, and was appointed editor in May 2010.
Previously, Barry worked in regional and suburban print media and, before joining the RACQ, was sport and motoring writer with News Ltd's Quest Community Newspapers in Brisbane.
As a freelancer, Barry has contributed to more than 30 motoring, motor sport and motorcycling publications in Australia and the UK. He has also written three commissioned or self-published books: Driven to Succeed, Longford - Fast Track Back and Glory Days.
Motor sport has been a life-long passion, and Barry has competed in motorcycle, kart and car racing on a deficit of finance but surplus of enthusiasm.
