John Ewing

From a very young age, John grew up around motor cars and the family run automotive repair workshop in suburban Brisbane, where he also completed his apprenticeship in 1981. He holds an A grade mechanic’s certificate, Associate Member status from the Society of Automotive Engineers and is a member of the Institute of Automotive Engineers.
Since joining RACQ in 1990 John has worked as a vehicle inspector and in the technical advisory department. In 1997 he took up his current position and has been a regular contributor on technical topics including used car reviews to the Club’s magazine, The Road Ahead; as well as regular member of the new car road testing crew. John is also active in assisting with development of club policy on a range of technical issues.
John is Queensland’s second Australia’s Best Cars judge alongside Russell Manning.
His interests include metal machining and fabrication in his home workshop, gardening, motor sport and of course driving
