Upon completing an apprenticeship in Motor Mechanics at Adelaide’s largest Datsun/Nissan dealership in 1983, Andrew joined the family Market Gardening business for a couple of years. Working on the land fulfilled his interest in tractors and farm machinery but he found himself missing the motor cars a little too much. Returning to the large dealership scene he gained further experience in automatic transmission, vehicle security, fuel injection and LPG systems. Andrew eventually found his way into the office environment as a Service Advisor and Warranty Clerk. Joining the RAA in 2002 as a Technical Advisor was a dream come true for Andrew and he now manages the Technical Advisory area. Andrew’s interest in the motor industry is more technology based and he’s keen to see new technologies filtering into the new vehicle fleet in regards to safety and alternative fuels. Past times and hobbies include, making the windows rattle with the Fender Stratocaster, and researching vintage guitar amplifiers and sound equipment, along with tinkering on a 1984 Holden ute in the shed.
